On behalf of the entire Rigous family, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to each of you who contributed to the wrestling scholarship created in Joe’s name. Your generosity and support are profoundly appreciated; not only by us, but by the graduating senior (or hopefully more than one senior) who can now take a step forward with less burden and more hope, all because of you.

Joe was truly one of a kind. Wrestling was a major part of his life; it shaped his grit, his values, and his approach to the world. This scholarship means so much to us because it reflects both his deep love for the sport and his unwavering belief in the potential of young people who give it their all. With the support of SEPA Wrestling, this scholarship will continue to make an impact, honoring Joe’s legacy by uplifting the next generation of student-athletes.

In addition to the scholarship, we have also started the Coach Joe Rigous Legacy Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to keeping Joe’s memory alive by continuing his lifelong commitment to supporting new and young wrestlers. Our mission is to provide resources, opportunities, and encouragement to help them grow—on the mat and beyond it. We are currently working to make giving to the foundation simple and accessible, so that anyone who wishes can contribute to this cause. We ask that you share the foundation with others who may want to join us in carrying forward Joe’s legacy of mentorship, hard work, and heart.

Thank you for honoring Joe in this way. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive by supporting something he believed in so deeply. You’ve made a difference; not just for one student, but for all of us.

We will notify everyone by letter when the scholarship ceremony will take place, for those who wish to attend, and to share the names of the student-athletes who receive the award.
