About Joe’s Legacy

We are a family-founded nonprofit dedicated to honoring Coach Joe Rigous by supporting hardworking student wrestlers through scholarships, community involvement, and lasting mentorship.

1975–1976
  • Wrestled at Neshaminy Maple Point High School
  • Team record: 9 wins – 6 losses
  • 4th place in Sections
1976–1977
  • Wrestling record: 21 wins – 4 losses – 2 ties (167 lbs)
  • 1st Place – Sectional Champion
  • 1st Place – District Champion
  • 4th Place – Regional Championships
1978–1980
  • Competed for Mohawk Wrestling Club
  • Gold Medal – U.S. Wrestling Federation Freestyle Tournament
1980
  • 1st Place – USA Olympic Trial Regionals Greco-Roman Wrestling– 180.5 lbs
1981–1982
  • Gold Medal – Freestyle Wrestling vs. Denmark
  • National Champion – Greco-Roman Wrestling
  • 3rd Place – 180.5 lbs at tournament at Central Michigan University
1982–1983
  • NJCAA 6th Place National Finish All-American, 177 lbs
1983–1984
  • NJCAA 2nd Place National Finish All-American, 177 lbs
1984–1985
  • Wrestled for East Stroudsburg University
